Drug Uses
Differin is a pharmaceutically generated medication with the mechanisms that mimic those of retinol applied for treating acne-prone skin conditions. Your doctor may prescribe you using Differin for regulating other skin conditions as well.
How Taken
Read the inlay guidelines accurately before proceeding with the drug use. If you still have some questions concerning the use of Differin or its effects, do not hesitate to ask your doctor or any other health care provider.
Wash the acne-prone area gently using delicate soap foam, rinse thoroughly the foam and dry on a soft towel. Apply a thin coat of Differin to the acne spot and around it rubbing in with soft circular movements.
Drug Class and Mechanism
The foremost active component of Differin is Adapalene. The role of Adapalene consists in regulating the processes of inflammations, cellular differentiation, and keratin impregnation. The precise mechanisms of Adapalene are still not studied to the fullest.it is known, however, that when applied to the surface of the skin Adapalene is absorbed into the blood very moderately. Patients who Adapalene medicines on a regular basis have displayed only traces of the medication in their blood tests.
Missed Dose
If you happen to miss a session of our Differin therapy, take one as soon as you remember to. if it is nearly time for you to take the next scheduled session, skip the missed one. Do not catch up with the schedule taking 2 sessions at once.
Storage
Store your Differin medication at indoor (between 15 and 30 degrees C or 59 and 86 degrees F) in a cool dry place out of the reach of children and domestic animals.
Warnings/Precautions
Avoid contact with eyes and the mucous tissues of the mouth and nasal cavities. Do not feel discouraged if you notice that the condition of your skin is not affected or tends to worsen during the first 14-21 days of the treatment program. Do not discontinue the Differin therapy at that point as this is but natural reaction of the organism. Do not combine the use of Differin with other skin medications without our doctor's prior approvement.the use of decorative cosmetics is completely combinable with the Differin therapy. The use of Differin may increase your sensitivity to the effects of the ultra violet, therefore be particularly cautious while exposing yourself to the sun during the therapy period. Use protective clothes and screens when there is a need in prolonged exposure to the sun rays and avoid artificial ultra violet emitters like tanning booths and sun lamps before you learn your typical reactions to Differin. Do not apply the medication to sun burnt areas of your skin.
The effect of Differin to the foetus and a new born baby have not been studied as for yet. Discuss your doctor the advantages and disadvantages of discontinuing the Differin therapy during the periods of pregnancy and/or nursing.
Possible Side Effects
The list of side effects that patients undergoing Differin therapy may experience includes minor symptoms as itching, reddening, excessive dryness of the skin, peeling, stinging or the warming sensation. Notify your doctor or pharmacist should any of these symptoms persist or become particularly troublesome.
Seek attention of your doctor right away in case you have developed blistering, crusting, swelling or severe reddening or peeling of the skin. If you have developed any other bothersome or alarming side effects not indicated in the guidelines notify your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
More Information
Consult your doctor if you do not notice any progress in your condition after prolonged (more than 3 weeks) period of time. Differin is not intended for the use of patients to whom it has not been prescribed as well as for regulating other skin conditions. If you are using Differin chronically, do not fail to refill your supply timely.
